I WILL TRUST

This morning I had some quiet time and the word that dropped in my heart was, TRUST. We all go through ups and downs in our lives when we have to let it all GO and just TRUST God. Here is the Webster’s Dictionary definition of trust.

Trust: belief that someone or something is reliable, good, honest, effective, etc.

When I think of the word trust, the scripture that comes to mind is Proverbs 3:5. I LOVE The Message Bible version which says, “Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. The Amplified Bible version says, “Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.”

There is NO way that you will be able to understand EVERYTHING that God is doing in your life. Sometimes CRAZY things happen and you can’t help but ask questions like, “God, WHY me?” He’s God and He knows ALL things. He wants you to TRUST HIM. Romans 8:28 (The Message Bible) says, “That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.” It doesn’t matter how DARK or BLEAK things may look — TRUST HIM.  The problem that many of us run into is that we try to rely on our NATURAL WISDOM to figure out our lives when our TOTAL trust must remain in God at ALL times. When we focus on our own ability and take our minds off of God’s ability then we become upset, frustrated, frantic and anxious. Why not just take a load off of your mind and sit back, RELAX and TRUST GOD?!  I know that sounds easier said than done, especially when you are in a TEST and you are facing a challenging time. Try it and watch God work EVERYTHING out for your GOOD.

Fred Hammond has a GREAT song from his new album which is called “I Will Trust.” I pray that this song will encourage those of you today who are struggling with relinquishing your own control and fully trusting God in EVERY area of your life.
